It can be 6881, it can be 6900, WHICHEVER port you want. Just as long as it's not being used by another application. Make sure it's the same port that you have on your bittorrent program, obviously. In azureus, you can find the port in Options and under Transfer, listed as 'incoming listen port'.

I changed it to 500 (any large number) and immediately the 55 peers started increasing to 100 and 190 connected peers.
