Hi all I have a user who can't see headers and footers in Print Layout, I've checked the usual white spaces up/down arrow trick but still no show, I've checked File, Options, Display and Show white spaces between pages in Print Layout is checked. This is happening on all Word docs on her machine. The Strange thing is, is that if she logs on to another machine and opens the same document it is all ok, headers and footers show. I've googled and googled but not found a solution and I'd be really grateful if anyone has a solution. Software Penjualan Tiket Air on this page. Thank you all in advance:) Del.
Are you showing the 'white space' between the pages? Is the document continuous or do you see the grey border in between each page? If you double click on either the line between pages or the grey bit between the pages it will switch between the 2 different options. In the continuous view the headers are hidden.
I'm sure there is an option for it in the menu somewhere but I haven't got a clue where it is and I'm sorry that the explanation isn't the best, its one of those easy to do and show difficult to explain ones. Hope that helps anyway. Hi I am creating a template in MS Word 2010. I have used styles to create headers and footers and I want my first page to have a different header (ie none) so I have selected different first page, and created my footer in page 1 (which carries on through the template). I have created my header on page 2 and this follows through in the document, UNTIL i put in a section break. After this the footer continues but the header doesn't? When I try and edit the settings in my header, the link to previous option is greyed out.??
I saw somewhere on a thread, that you need to have at least 2 section breaks for this to appear, however I added another section break in my document, but it still didn't become active. So my question is: how do I keep my header running through from page 2 of a document (where i was created) after I have added a section break? Thank you:-).
When you insert a section break, the section that follows initially has the same settings as the original one, which means that 'Different First Page' is enabled, and the first header in the section will be the First Page Header; you won't get the primary Header until the second page of the section. If you want the primary Header to appear on every page of that section, you will need to disable Different First Page for that section. For this purpose, it is not necessary to unlink either header from the previous one (in fact, if you want the Header in the second section to reflect any changes in the Section 1 Header, you need to leave them linked).
