High Res Cloud Patch

High Res Cloud Patch

Ferrite Core Inductor Software Engineering more. Yeah yeah, I'm aware that we had a thread on the BATTLE MODEL being converted to high res. But this is something new that I discovered while mucking around with the char.lgp. It seems that Squaresoft was developing high res character models for outside of battle. I came across a completed Cloud model and half of Jesse.

I've tested the Clould model and it works pretty well except for that fact one of his legs is acting like an arm. See attached and curse Squaresoft for not bothering to finish working on it. Also while I'm on the topic of FF7 I can't seem to get the sound effects working. Anyone have any idea how to overcome it?. I got everything fixed up. I realised by uninstalling the AceMega Codec Pack that I was also uninstalling the drivers FF7 used for the Sfx. I fixed it by installing them manually.

The patch is finally ready, and the bugs like crashes in starport menu are gone now. You can finally play Dune 2000 in hi-res, which makes selecting units and pending to the map a lot easier. Please note: in order to get both the sub-houses fix and the mission select mod working with the script, you should install both BEFORE you apply the high-res patch.

Anyways heres some more pics for your amusement. Dispite the leg, I prefer playing the game with the high res model. The 1st is another pic which I thought was worth showing, the 2nd is how the model program interprets the high res model (I told you it wasn't compatible), 3rd is another funny pic and lastly is something I just did when I was bored; replaced Cloud's model with Ultimate Weapon's.

I know I'm double posting, but this post is too different to be in the previous one as its not an edit. Okay, I did a little bit of thinking and fiddling around with stuff and I've found a way to fix the leg. BUT.yes theres a but. BUT to do it means I have to reanimate it from scratch. I have to renanimate the walking, the climing, the angry shake of the hand, the button pressing, the chest opening and about 80 other different poses. I've already started and I have his stand still pose done and his walking pose 1/4 finished.

At first my progress should be pretty quick as I'm on school holidays for a few weeks, however then I'll have to juggle school and the reanimation. Wish me luck! I've found when using a more human looking model (ie not 3D snes sprites) that the character actually comes across better. They look more real and I guess are easier to relate to. I'm sure everyone would like a revamped Cloud.
