Best Pocket Wifi Brands

Posted on by

Hello, Next month we are traveling from Belgium to Japan and we would like to rent a pocket WIFI to use with iPAD and iPhone. We will be in a few days in Tokyo and Kyoto and will be traveling using the bullet trains. We will also be in the Alps for a few days (Kanazawa, Takayama, Matsumoto.). What will be the best choice of Pocket WIFI rental (coverage) to use during our traintrips and in the smaller cities?

You should also factor in pickup locations/shipping cost. Some will deliver to your first hotel free of charge. I used Exseli last time:- You can read my old post in this thread:- It was on the emobile network and worked well in all the cities we visited. Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima, Fukuoka, Kanazawa, Takayama, Tokyo, Nagoya, etc.

Other options (which I haven't used) include:- Telecom Square Enjoy your trip! 2011/6/19 21:29.

Thanks a lot. We will arrive in Narita airport on July 16th. We will then take the train to Kyoto that same day. We will fly back to Belgium on August 4th from Narita airport.

To avoid the hassle, I was thinking of having the pocket WIFI delivered to the hotel in Kyoto. This is our first time in Japan, so it will be exciting to exchange the Japan railpass and find the correct train to get out of the airport and on our way to Kyoto. I wouldn't want to add to that excitement by trying to find the counter to pick up the pocket WIFI at the airport terminal.

In terminal 2 of Narita they are in the middle of both wings, so easy to find. Even it is exciting to do this as well, it might be not as hard as you may think. Delivery might cost a lot - but you have to check this on the carriers websites. Although the exchange of the JR Pass isn't that difficult.

You have to fill out a form (in English) and your passports will be copied. In the end you will receive your pass and be happy. By Lisa (guest) Comparison providers 2011/6/19 23:42. Free Human Anatomy 3d Models. Thanks all for your input. I made a quick comparison between the possibilities and it looks like we will be going for the Global Advanced Comm option.

Following comparison: Company Network Data Limit Downlink/Uplink Price 20 days Delivery Charge ---------- Exseli Emobile?? ---------- GAC Emobile Unlimited 7.2/5.8 Mbps 10600 JPY Free ---------- JCR Docomo Unlinited 7.2/5.8 Mbps 19300 JPY 1600 JPY ---------- Pupuru Emobile Unlimited 7.2/5.8 Mbps 13125 JPY 1050 JPY ---------- Telecom Square Emobile Unlimited 7.2/5.8 Mbps 31500 JPY Free ---------- Rentafone Docomo Unlimited 300K??? Not mentioned on site, but found in several forum posts 9800 JPY Free ---------- So taking everything into account it seems that for us the best choice would be going with the GAC option.

Unless I am overlooking something (f.e. Cost when renting surpasses the end of the month, beginning of next month and that results in extra cost like Pupuru charges). 2011/6/20 07:55.
